Ham and Cheese Empanadas
They never fail. Ham and Port Salut wrapped in tapas de empanada and sealed with a repulgue.
Ingredients
Steps
- Cut the ham and cheese into small cubes. Mix them in a large bowl by hand until you get an even mix.
- Make up to 12 ham and cheese balls.
- Put a filling ball on each disc of dough.
- Close in half, pressing the edge with your fingers.
- Seal with a fork or make the traditional “repulgue” fold.
- Bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
Tip: Keep the filling cold and the balls compact so the empanadas close easily and don't leak.
